I have this memory of being a little girl in a forest of foxgloves. To this day, despite being much taller, I still think of foxgloves as giants. They tower, they’re majestic, they’re strong. And yet, they are beautiful, intricate, and quite complex. Just like us. We are all strong, beautiful, and complex. And someone, somewhere is looking up to us.

She just glows. It's as if she's lit from within. 80 years old, newly transplanted, cooking under a 112 degree sun. And yet she keeps blooming. Radiating her warmth and beauty to everyone lucky enough to see her.

There's so much hope when you plant something. You don't know if it will survive the winter, put down roots, bloom, and fruit. But you hope it will. And so you plant that seed, or seedling with soil, with care, and with so much hope. And when it finally blooms, your heart blooms with it.

There's a place for gentle beauty. For 'catching more flies with honey'. For grace under pressure. But, there's also a place for beauty that fights, stands, pushes. Beauty that says, 'This isn't right, good, or just'. Beauty that stays in the room until the wound is healed, the problem resolved, the heart mended. Bright, bold, confident, fierce. Beauty can be fierce.

I love Daisies. My love affair with daisies started when I was a little girl making daisy chains from the little tiny ones that pop up in the grass. Around Middle School, I planted daisies in our yard. Shasta daisies tend to take over a bit, but my dad patiently mowed around them. I had them as the flowers at our wedding, and we named our first daughter 'Daisy'. I love daisies.
Downtown has my heart.
And this little coffee shop- I call it the living room of downtown. Each time I step inside, I see love and laughter, conversation and coffee.
This room witnesses so much beauty. Work is getting done, hearts are being shared, drinks are being sipped, kids are playing, adults are drawing, and Skyler and Chassity are making it all happen with their warm hospitality.
Each painting is of someone enjoying one of those sacred, ordinary moments happening right here in this coffee shop.

We feel. Deeply. Our emotions are part of who we are and play such an important role in processing life. I love creating expressive pieces. They are alive and rich in meaning. They say, ‘My human experience matters.’
I have something I’d like to say about my side of town, west Medford. I’ve decided to say it with my paintbrush. The neighbors, friends, and employees that live their daily lives west of the freeway are beautiful. Every city, neighborhood, and family has it’s struggles, but we are not defined by the struggle. My hope is that viewing this neighborhood from a different angle will shine a light on the beauty I witness everyday. West Medford, you are lovely, I’m so glad I get to be a part of your community.

2020 brought an onslaught of stress, sadness, and a collective anxiety that lingered for years. This Small Joys series is my little way of reminding all of us that there is still joy in the world. And it’s usually found in the most accessible places- on the faces of the people who make up our ‘every day’.

Custom oil portrait painting is work that comes from the center of my heart. It’s emotional and meaningful and always challenges my growth as an artist and a person.
People are my favorite subject to paint. Also called ‘figurative art’, painting people is soul work. it requires not just looking, but seeing, not just producing, but feeling.
I’m inspired by the people around me and in my life. My own children are endless inspiration, as are my relatives, friends, and after living for 15 years in the Philippines, the Filipino people.
I would love to create a custom piece for you or someone you love. Please reach out and we can begin your own, unique piece of art.
Beauty is high value for me. It feeds the soul, it brings delight, and it’s something we can share with each other. A beautiful gown is a delight to wearer and enjoyed by all who see her. I’m inspired by the wearable art that gown designers create and love to capture them on canvas. See my shop if you’re interested in your own custom gown portrait.
Whether you’ve ordered custom artwork many times, or this is your first commission, I’m so happy you’re here.
Every artist is a little bit different in their methods and preferences, so let me walk you through my process and invite you into the beautiful world of custom portraits!
Custom portraits are a deeply personal purchase. The cost, the time it takes to create, and the years spent enjoying the piece all say ‘I love this person’. It’s my honor to play a small role in that beautiful sentiment.
The best starting point for a new commission inquiry is to email me at belindaLmoffit@gmail.com and let me know you are interested in ordering a custom portrait.
I will then discuss pricing with you, or you can look at my shop page to view the prices there. All paintings have a 1st payment at the beginning of the process and a 2nd payment upon completion. Prices are based on size and the amount of people in the painting. My preference is 1 or 2 people per painting.
After you have decided on size and who it is you want painted, I will ask you a series of questions about the person (I love getting to know the people I’m painting), questions about composition, background, whether you want your painting posted on social media platforms, and a few other details.
Each painting take anywhere from 4-8 weeks to complete and you can expect 2 or 3 process updates with photos. Upon completion your painting is carefully packaged and shipped or picked up (depending on location). Shipping is free.
I look forward to working with you to celebrate the lives of your loved ones through the meaningful medium of oil portraiture.
-Belinda
I’d love to get to know you better!
